A vampire costume for Halloween?

I know Halloween is far far away but was wondering if anyone has good ideas for a vampire costume for an adult guy? I’m looking for something that’s kind of gothic and NOT looking like Bela Lugosi. My idea was a black velvet shirt with the cuffs partially covering my hands and a black trenchcoat over it. Was thinking of wearing my nails long and polished black. I saw this guy the other day with pointed black boots, they looked a bit feminine but were not high heels, thought they would look cool for the vamp look. By the way my hair is natureally black, want to do something interesting with it but not grow it long! Would appreciate any ideas(no crossdressing vampire themes!)

.. Keep the simple black shirt and the trench coat … kinda Queen of the Damned Stuart Townsend meets Blade …
for the hair you might not like this idea but you could bleach streaks into it and the jet black with the white would make it look wicked awesome and would give you the kinda aged look.
for the shoes prolly a pair of mens work boots or a pair of dress shoes…slighly elongated but not pointed…. and then you could wear a pair of black slacks with verry light pinstripes in them try grey not white stripes.
Should look awesome. and for the teeth spencers or any halloween store has the ‘glue’ on teeth.
…oh and the nails thing …. dont grow them out just paint them black.

HAHA well this question is interesting.. You can put black eye liner on to give you more of that goth look, pain your nails black.. Put white powder on your face to look like a real vamp. You can also put on a cape with a black shirt.. Even the fake teeth would help

okay, the best way to have an awesome costume is shop early. you can go to ebay and get a costume or buy gothic clothes. a studded belt and jewelry would compliment it nice. get some of the manic panic bleack and bleach out a strip of hair down the middle and wear it in a mohock! some cool boots and fishnet sockings on the arms and maybe a long trench coat with the dcollar turned up!!!!

If you don’t mind spending a little money, DracInABox.com has some pretty good gothic/vampire couture. It’s elegant and tasteful, not cheap and flashy.
